Participation Requirements

Day 1 (Fri, 3–5pm):

Interviewed by tech professionals to explain challenges

Day 2 (Sat, 2–4pm):

Provide feedback on prototypes

Day 3 (Sun, 2–5pm):

Pitch presentation + networking mixer afterwards

Program Overview

Day 1 – Team Formation & Challenge Discovery

  • • Team formation and icebreaker activities to build strong collaboration
  • • Guided by a Stanford Design Thinking facilitator to explore the design thinking process
  • • Interview nonprofit leaders to uncover and define real challenges

Day 2 – Co-Creation & Prototyping

  • • Collaborate in teams to brainstorm bold, tech-driven solutions
  • • Build working prototypes: apps, workflows, dashboards, AI bots, and more
  • • Share early concepts and gather direct feedback from nonprofit leaders

Day 3 – Final Pitches & Celebration

  • • Pitch your solutions to peers, nonprofits, and judges
  • • Receive feedback and recognition during the award ceremony
  • • Wrap up with a networking mixer to spark future collaborations

2-Month Follow-Up

Continued collaboration with assigned point-of-contact (POC) and regular check-ins, if both sides are interested.

How many people should attend?

We recommend at least two representatives: one connected to the challenge, one who understands operations.

Do we need to pay anything?

Participation is completely free for selected nonprofits. We provide meals during the event.

For Tech Participants

Is this really a hackathon?

It's much more! Design thinking workshops, team building, and direct nonprofit collaboration.

What's the time commitment?

Full three days required: Friday (kickoff), Saturday (prototyping), Sunday (presentations).
